Taiwan has been no doubt one of the most colorful destinations that I’ve been to. Imagination is shown everywhere from street murals to public art. There are also many eateries that are super creative with their themes and food (Beyond the Modern Toilet restaurant that everyone talks about). I loved going café hunting in different cities during my travels in Taiwan. Here is a list of my favorite cute restaurants and cafes in Taiwan that you would want to experience and totally Instagram

Toasteria
Address: No. 3, Lane 169, Section 1, Dunhua South Road, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan
This place is a brunch dream! Toasteria claims to have “the most creative panini menu on the planet!” I think they might be right. So many delicious and good looking options. Their grill cheese sandwich is delicious and the fruit and yogurt bowl is too pretty to eat. Look at all the colours!
Meat Up
Address: No. 124-4, Section 2, Wuchang St, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108
This bright burger and smoothie shop is located close to Ximending in Taipei. The cute shop front is totally asking to be photographed. I really liked their yogurt smoothie with strawberries and kiwi. The food did take quite long to come when we were there. So keep that in mind if you visit.
TankQ Café & Bar
Address: No. 3-2, Lane 90, Songjiang Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10491
Indulge in your inner child at this café with a Pixar and Disney character theme. My boyfriend laughed at me a bit when I took him here but he had to admit that it’s cute. I think I will still get excited over anything Disney even when I’m 60. The café’s signature is their burger and fries set served in a suitcase. Because we were not too hungry during our visit, we just ordered coffee. All the drinks are served in character mugs. I got the Minnie one yay!
I Am Talato
Address: No. 451, Yingcai Road, West District, Taichung City, Taiwan 403
I Am Talato is an ice cream shop in Taichung. They do have a coffee menu however. (The Americano is good!) On top of their kick ass ice cream flavors like sesame and chocolate, the store is an amazing backdrop for IG. The store’s biggest attraction is their back corner where you can take photos sitting in a pool of ice cream. Oh millennials are so easy to get. (Speaking about myself here)
Gabinight 啡文學
Address: 434, Taiwan, Taichung City, Longjing District
I was taken here with my partner by a local friend. All he told us was that it’s a “special café”. So we showed up with no clue and it was totally a wow moment. Gabinight is open from 6 pm to 3 am. It’s located on a small mountain where you can see the gorgeous night lights of Taichung. Coffee is sold from a cool vintage truck. There is soft music playing in the background and the vibe here is just amazing. It’s a great place to sit with friends and just chat the night away. There is also a corner set up for you to take a photo for momento.
Niielou Café 聶樓
Address: No. 76, Shennong Street, West Central District, Tainan City, Taiwan 700
Located on Shennong Street in Tainan, Niielou is an artsy café with a relaxed vibe. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Say hello to their cutie parrot! It’s a great place to study and hang out. My partner and I sat here for hours drinking their cold brew coffee and catching up on work. (Hello digital nomad life!)
Café moment
Address: 700, Taiwan, Tainan City, West Central District, 忠孝街93巷34號
This cosy café is unexpectedly tucked away in a little alley on Zhongxiao street. The theme is “all cats everything!” Meet the adorable kitties that were the inspiration. They are definitely not shy, welcoming all the attention from the guests comfortably. Order a coffee and you will be impressed by the owner’s skills. The trophies on the wall let you know that these guys are latte art champions! Their home made tiramisu was also one of the best that I’ve ever had!

Yay! Thanks Frances. Enjoy your trip! 😀
TAIWAN is my favorite country and coffee is my soul. Didn’t get to find cute cafes during my visit cos I was a little bit jammed but will totally visit these all on my visit this year. They look all so cute especially that minnie mouse mug 🙂
Ooh they have so many cute mugs there Janice! Minions, Toy Story, you name it! Yay hope you’ll visit!
What wonderful creative cafes! I’m a huge cat lover, so I’ll let you guess which one was my favourite… 😉
Haha I think I have a pretty good idea Nicky. The lattes and desserts at Cafe Moment are also delish. Just perfect with the company of some cute kitties.
Good lord, I can’t handle the cuteness! Totally bookmarking this, hoping to go to Taiwan this year!

Thanks Glo! Means a lot coming from you! Love your blog girl <3
I’ve visited Taiwan twice already but they were pretty jam packed trips so I didn’t have much down time for coffee shop hopping, but I’m dying to get back and will definitely be finding a few of these jems! Thanks for the inspiration!
Aw thanks Liss! Hope you enjoy your next visit!
Okay, I’m making Tosteria my first stop in Taiwain… but seriously, they need to make their bowls look less amazing if they want people to order sandwiches!
(Taiwan! I can’t believe I made that typo!)
The title of this post couldn’t me more perfect! Lovey the view from Gabinight! All the other restaurants are beautiful too! And afforable is always a bonus 😉
