With the Corona Virus pandemic in 2020 that changed the way of life around the globe, possibly forever,  people are increasingly seeing the appeal of remote work. The great thing about the laptop lifestyle is that whether you want to work in your PJs from home or take your job on the road, you can. In this article, I present to you 26 jobs that will let you work from anywhere in the world online. No more time and money spent on soul draining commutes to the office, no more limited time with the family. Go on and find your path to more freedom.

1. Language Tutor

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, the demand for language learning will only get higher and higher. If you are a native English speaker, you may qualify to work for companies such as VIPkid, Palfish, GogoKid, and Dada, where you can teach English as a second language for kids in countries like China. Other platforms like iTalkie allow you to teach whatever language you want and set your own prices.

I have been working at VIPKid for almost two years and would recommend this company. Read my review of VIPKid.

2. Teacher

If teaching language is not your cup of tea, you can teach whatever you are passionate about. Outschool is a market place style platform where teachers offer live online classes covering any and all subjects under the sun. From Math to Art, to dance, to wilderness survival, you can literally teach anything.

I have seen teachers make up to $7000 USD per month on Outschool. The income reports are staggering. With virtual classrooms, you can reach students from all over the world. The sky is the limit!

3. Course creator

Another form of utilizing your skills is to create courses and sell them on sites such as Skillshare, Udemy, and Teachable. Unlike teaching live classes, with pre-recorded videos, you put in the time and energy into creation mostly in the beginning. Then you can enjoy a passive income stream as people purchase your course. The money can roll in even when you are sleeping. How cool is that?

Truly, no matter how advance we get with technology, we can never replace quality human teachers. This is an industry that will not go out of style, so take some time to explore it.

4. Blogger

Love expressing yourself through writing and photography? Start a blog. It is no easy work to create an income generating blog. It takes skills and patience but it is absolutely achievable. More and more people are reaching 6 figure and 7 figure incomes through blogging in many niches, including fashion, beauty, travel, pets, food, technology, and finance. Start educating yourself on the process of starting a blog here.

6. E-commerce

Websites like Etsy and Shopify allow you to create a virtual store and become your own boss at the fraction of the upfront cost of traditional brick and mortar businesses. Etsy is especially great as it harnesses the appeal of a collective market place and offers marketing advantages to the sellers. If you are a hands-on artist or craftsman, Etsy is a dreamy place to be. As well, you are not limited to selling physical products. Digital prints, for example, are things that you can create and sell without having to keep an inventory.

7. Amazon Dropshipper

Amazon is one of the most popular shopping apps in the world and you can take advantage of its customer base without having your own products via dropshipping. Dropshipping is the process of selling an item without the responsibility of carrying inventory or shipping the goods. These are taken care of by the manufacturer. You as the drop shipper is responsible for maintaining the virtual storefront, marketing, administrative tasks and providing excellent customer service. Because you only purchase products from the manufacturer when a customer places an order, this business model is very low cost and easy to get started. Learn about dropshipping here.

Even if you don’t have a blog, Youtube channel, or online store, you can still earn an income through promoting other people’s products on social media. Instagram influencers are obviously doing it. Whether it’s fashion, home decor, or food, people go to Pinterest looking for idea. You can pin beautiful images that link to web pages, which means you can direct people to different products. 11. Freelance Writer

Often, organizations/individuals hire ghostwriters to produce content for them. You can get paid to write for online magazines, blogs, and many different projects. It takes some time to build up a portfolio, but the rewards can be very lucrative if you truly have the talent. If your clients are satisfied, they will probably repeat business with you and may help you get more clients through word of mouth. Upwork, Freelancer, and Writers Work are all great platforms to get started.

To give you an example, my most recent guest article for a travel website earned me $125 USD. It was a 1000 word blog post that took me one workday to write. Check out these publications that pay to hire travel writers.

12. Self-published Author

Say goodbye to the old image of a starving writer, and hello to the thriving writer. You no longer need to spend months writing book proposals and getting agents to help you pitch to book publishers. Today, if you have an idea you believe in, you can become a self-published author. Amazon has a suite of services that make it easy to create and sell digital books, or print and sell paperback copies on demand. You never have to hold inventory and this is a great stream of passive income. Read more about Amazon Self Publishing.

13. Translator

If you are fluent in more than one language, you can become a translator. Keep in mind, however, whether you are translating a law document or a construction paper, many industries do have technical jargon. You may need to spend some time studying. The more you establish a niche for certain industries, the more it will earn you a reputation as the go-to person for that niche over time. Upwork, Freelancer, and Fiverr are great websites to get started as a translator.

Check out this article written by someone who did just that.
